Golpo Sholpo, a dynamic card game celebrating the vibrant energy of the Bangladeshi diaspora, ranging from the street food of Dhaka to the busy corners of NYC. As you race clockwise, keep the cultural chatter going:
Golpo, Sholpo, Chai, Biscuit, Mishti!
But watch out! If the word matches the card, you must SLAP the pile! Flip an Action Card, and you'd better be the first to hail a TAXI or make a FUSKA face! Be the last to act, and you take the whole pile. Perfect for breaking the ice and sharing endless laughter.
Welcome to Golpo Sholpo, where we laugh loud and Golpo louder!
Our Story
Hi, I’m Shad.
I was born in Dhaka, Bangladesh, and raised in Queens, New York.
Growing up, I loved games! Everything from Uno to Ludo. What I loved most was how playing games brought people closer together.
When my parents hosted dawats, the adults gathered in the living room—talking and laughing while the chai was poured and the biscuits and mishti were passed around.
In the other room, we kids were doing the same thing in our own way: playing games, trash talking, and chit chatting.
Different rooms. Same energy.
As I got older, I realized something:
I loved games, but I never found one that felt like us.
So I thought… why not make my own?
I took those living-room dawats, the Dhaka-to-Queens experience, the nonstop chit chat, and turned it into a game.
That’s how Golpo Sholpo was born.
It literally means “chit-chat” in Bengali.
It’s fast.
It’s loud.
It’s designed to break the ice, spark conversation, and turn a table of people into a table of friends.
My hope is simple:
By the end of the night, friends, family, and even strangers feel closer than when they started.
Golpo Sholpo isn’t just a game.
It’s culture.
It’s a community.
It’s a table in Queens—
And there’s always room for one more.
Welcome to Golpo Sholpo.
